The refurbishment of the compound was the final stage in the restoration of South Park Gardens completed in Spring 2015. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and the London Borough of Merton (LBM). The refurbished compound includes: new toilets, storage for the Friends and gardeners, a kiosk and a Friends’ room.

The building has a green roof and while being of a modern design it is painted in the same palette of heritage colours currently used in the Gardens. The area around the new building will shortly be landscaped in sympathy with the original restoration plans.
